The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any cremation arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy an item you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you selected.

Cremation Society of Massachusetts Membership Registration		$25/person
This is a one-time, non-refundable fee to become a member of the society.
Direct Cremation Charge	Members $1470	Non-Members $1695
Our charge for direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of licensed professional and staff, removal of remains, necessary authorizations, cremation container, and crematory fee. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The container we provide is a particle board container which is already included in our direct cremation charge.

Cremation Service Options

Nationwide Travel Protection Program

$325

For our Members who enjoy travel, we offer a unique out-of-state extended service program. This program guarantees that your desired services will be performed anywhere in the world. If your death occurs 100 miles from your home we will arrange for the cremation services to be performed and the cremated remains to be shipped to us at no additional cost to the family.

Private Viewing $95

Immediate family members are often comforted by viewing the deceased briefly and privately before the cremation takes place in our viewing room.

Family- Witnessed Cremation $175

For those that want the peace of mind of being present for the cremation process, we will schedule the cremation at a mutually agreed upon time during normal business hours.

Attendant at Graveside $175

We will arrange for and be in attendance at a memorial service either at a church, graveside, or other location.

Chapel Rental with Attendant $475

By using our chapel, a time and place is designated for family and friends to gather in remembrance of the deceased. Day and evening options are available and recorded or live music can be arranged.

Pacemaker Removal $150

DNA Preservation $295

We are proud to offer DNA preservation through DNA Connections Technologies, Inc. Preserving DNA now or at the time of death before cremation or burial may help future family members predict and prevent illness. It is an inexpensive, simple, loving act that extends hope to family members.

Cremation Urns From $12 to $2,600

Unless the family wishes to purchase an urn, we will return the cremated remains in a temporary plastic urn. We display many urns in our urn selection room crafted from a variety of semi-precious metal, hardwood, natural stone, ceramic, steel and synthetic materials.

Companion Urns From $45 to $290

Upgraded Cremation Container From $125 to $760

For those families selecting a private viewing, a more appropriate cremation container is often desired.

Urn-Vaults From $125 to $495

State or local law does not require that you buy a container to surround the urn in the grave. However, many cemeteries require that you have such a container so that the grave will not sink in. Either a grave liner or a burial vault will satisfy these requirements.

Memorial Record Package $95

Includes Register Book, Personalized Laminated Memorial Cards (50) and Acknowledgment Cards (50). A meaningful package for use at the memorial service.

This list does not include prices for certain items you may ask us to buy for you such as cemetery charges, newspaper notices, clergy fees, music, and death certificates. The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the cremation goods and services you selected

Credit & Payment Policy
The Cremation Society of Massachusetts has established a uniform credit policy to serve all families fairly and to alleviate misunderstandings. A sound credit policy enables us to contain our costs to all the families we serve. Our general credit policy is that the entire amount of the cremation is due and payable prior to services being rendered. The following are acceptable credit arrangements:
Assignable Life Insurance. We accept life insurance as a means of full or partial payment once the assignment form has been signed by the beneficiary(ies) and coverage has been verified through the insurance carrier. When payment is received from the insurance company, you will be sent a statement showing the amount received, date of receipt, and balance due (if any). Processing time is generally 3 to 6 weeks.
Entitled Benefits. We will process on the family's behalf any death benefits from the Veterans Administration, City or State Welfare Department or Nursing Home Accumulated Funds Account as payment towards cremation expenses. If these funds do not cover the complete cost of the cremation, the family is responsible for the balance and our general credit policy would apply.

We accept cash, personal and bank checks, and credit cards (VISA, MasterCard and American Express) as forms of payment. We regret that we are unable to accept settlement of estates through attorneys or probate court as a means of financial arrangements.
